Together we can create a plan for event photography that meets your wishes and your budget. For weddings, I can provide unlimited all-day coverage, starting with preparations in the morning, ending when the reception hall is empty, or even coverage of a series of wedding events over the days. Or I can photograph essentially the public events of your wedding day, from shortly before the ceremony onwards. Between these two extremes, you may find a happy medium, as most people do. Your images will be custom processed, and you will receive high-resolution DVDs of these images, along with a letter licensing you to print from them for personal use. As well, your images will be posted in a password-protected online gallery, from which you and your friends and family can place print orders.
We can easily tailor the package further if you’re looking for coverage that is more elaborate, or more streamlined. My most basic coverage starts at $2500 (plus tax). If your event doesn’t fit the usual mold, well then we’ll craft a plan that suits it. I am happy to travel to your site–at any distance. Within a 70 mile radius, I won’t charge for mileage. At larger weddings, it’s often a good idea for me to engage a second photographer.
Optionally, you can commission a printed book of your photographs. I offer elegantly printed and bound collage-style albums, and luxurious matted ones. I can suggest more economical alternatives as well. You don’t need to decide on a book in advance, but you will receive a 5% discount on any album(s) you commit to before the wedding, and a set of 4 x 6″ proof prints, images I propose for the album. Given the uncertain lifespan of digital media, I recommend that one way or another you obtain archival-quality prints of your images, to be stored in more than one location, and that you make fresh copies of your digital recordings annually. We still have original prehistoric cave paintings, but we don’t always have uncorrupted versions of digital files made a few years ago!
My portrait sessions are often explorations. I’ll often photograph you, solo or in a couple, or perhaps your children, or the whole family–in action. At times I may invite you to take places, but even then I’ll often encourage spontaneous gestures and expressions. We may visit various spots together, or you may go about your activities, and I’ll follow. I hope you’ll have fun, and that the portraits will reflect that.
Weddings, family groups, and portraiture have taken center stage for me, but I am available for every sort of gathering: same-sex wedding, bar or bat mitzvah, secular celebration, work activity, theater event, educational project, you name it. As well, I will accept pro bono assignments for the benefit of nonprofit organizations.
